These are the onces i use |
I first discovered these watching japanese manga/book collection videos on youtube, noticing that a lot of people were using these clear covers for their books.
After googling I found this blog post introducing the covers.
The covers wrap around the front cover, spine and back covers and allows you to read the books with the covers on, as opposed to with the comic/manga bags. All the covers mentioned have a bit of extra height, see the pictures in the post to get an idea.
If you are wondering about how to put them on here are some videos I found on youtube:

Size guide
I will put links to the items pages on cdjapan.co.jp, so feel free to check them out. There you can also see book measurements that fit the different covers.
A bag with 10 covers cost from 135 JPY to 380 JPY (not including shipping cost) depending on the size.
English manga books (Viz media standard size)
Excess height around 2 mm |
On the package it says that it will fit books with height: 188 mm, width: 130 mm and thickness: 7-32 mm.
I find that these fit almost perfectly and only leaves around 2 mm in height (see the pictures). I personally used them for Haikyu!, Eyeshield 21, Slam dunk, Kimi ni todoke, A silent voice etc. which works just fine (these are all the standard English tankobon manga size i think).
Vol 2 (far left in box) have a cover on |
And if you have the A silent voice box set, the books will still fit into the box even with the cover on. I have a pictures on the left, but it might be hard to see the cover.

Japanese manga
Shonen/shojo manga - Standard tankobon
Excess height around 3 mm |
On the package it says that it will fit books with height: 177 mm, width: 113 mm and thickness: 7-28 mm.
I use it for titles like Death note, Eyeshield 21, kimi ni todoke, the new cover print of shirokuma cafe etc.
I haven't tried them on my Japanese kodansha comic books yet (like Shingeki no kyojin and Koe no katachi). But those are a bit shorter (around 4 mm) in height compared to the once mentioned earlier by Shueisha, so there will probably be more excess film in the top than shown in the picture (left).
I have a Japanese Detective conan (case closed) volume though which I think is published på Shogakukan, and it is the same size as the ones mentioned from shueisha.

Seinen manga - Slightly larger format tankobon
For manga a bit larger like Yotsuba&, Kingdom, Tokyo Ghoul, Gekkan shoujo Nozaki kun, I find that the tortoise green/blue one fits, the package says 青年コミック用 (170 JPY).
On the package it says that it will fit books with height: 182 mm, width: 130 mm and thickness: 7-32 mm.

Kanzenban manga - "complete" edition large format
For kanzenban manga (complete editions) which are even bigger (like the Hikaru no go and slam dunk kanzenbans) I find that the pink 大判コミック用 (195 JPY) does the job.

On the package it says that it will fit books with height: 210 mm, width: 149 mm and thickness: 5-33 mm.
I have tried these on the Viz media signature release of the Monster (Urasawa Naoki) perfect editions and they fit just fine. These have about the same width and height of the Japanese kanzenbans. Although they are a lot thicker than the Japanese kanzenbans that I have, and so I was worried they wouldn't fit. But fortunately they did.
There are other sizes available as well aside from the once that i have mentioned in this post, so do check if you need other sizes.
You can find the covers by searching "transparent book cover" on cdjapan.co.jp.
